Radio Today are reporting today that they understand that the remaining Smooth Radio AM transmitters after June 30th will be closing in the near future.

|I have noticed that 1251 for Bury St Edmunds from Great Barton has been running at very low modulation for the past couple of days. They are unlikely to sort it now as it has less than a week to go and also a sad end to what was once a pretty good local radio station - Saxon radio.
Several of these 14 transmitters will leave completely clear channels next weekend so pirate heaven for anybody who want's to have ago. It's not like there's anybody much left to annoy
