However 1548 came through loud and clear with a little fading. Was blown away by the signal.
AM was a radio desert, but the big 3AM transmitters came through and Manx. This was towards sunset not daytime.
DAB was obviously dead

Just read this report. It has been much less directional for a long while now but is still only a weak signal where I am in North Essex but previously was almost undetectable. Going on the the last round of closures, it could be turned off any day now before the end of the month. Guessing the other few remaining Global AM services will go in the next few weeks as well like 603 Kent. End of another era with a sometimes turbulent history.
