With lots of low frequency end of Medium wave becoming silent during darkness, this could make way for some trans-Atlantic DX reception from Eastern Canada and the United states.
Although AM radio is in steady decline in North America, there were more to start with so is not as fast as in Western Europe. Winter time early mornings are apparently the best time to try and DX North American stations. With channels becoming completely silent on this side of the Atlantic, there will be no annoying heterodyne note from the off channel stations on their 10 KHz channel spacing's to spoil the reception.
