But as a white guy, I was troubled to see places in Batesville (either the fairgrounds or the someplace like that) that still had signs over water fountains and restrooms saying "Blacks Only". I didn't understand why they would segregate such basic services.
Bottom line, my time in Mississippi was educational.
But you tell me Les, is the Mississippi of today as bad as it was in the '60s.
Now, back to my original request, Kamala Harris. I have seen absolutely nothing to convince me that she has what it takes to lead the most powerful nation on this planet. I'm not looking at it with a bias about her gender or her race, rather from how she conducts herself on the national and international stage. She does nothing to inspire me.
As for military brass and Trump. I never had any direct contact with the man, however one of my classmates (who shall remain nameless) was "big brass" and in repeated direct contact with Trump. He shared two stories with me about how Trump did not like to follow the advice of his "experts" but instead followed his own path. I don't know what Trump's real intentions were during those meetings, but he wasn't one to allow the "system" to work. He had to interject his own direction. Guess that's why some retired military brass worked to elect Biden. But I've seen a recent letter signed by many more retired military brass in support of Trump. Guess the Biden admin left them greatly underwhelmed. As for me, all I have to see is that video of a USAF C-17 trying to taxi through a sea of Afghanis. We could and should have done a better job of leaving Afghanistan. Ultimately Biden's fault.
By the way, sorry to disappoint you because I am a conservative. Guess it takes all kinds to make a world.
