Joseph. I would query any “ error” on my payslip if only to check if it was corrected the next month.

The only time that I would not know the amount of my months salary would be at Bonus time.

Always checked if any expenses had been paid correctly.

This BBC thing, the accountants did not know their job of if they did who authorised the extra monies and that’s where the blame lies.
