Spent some extra time thinking about this.
It seems to me that the one thing that may be impossible to grasp is the concept of nothingness. No thought. No feeling. No memory. No anything. Is it not better (easier) to shape a construct that takes the problem into account and weaves a tale offering a continuation of a sort, something one is able to grasp, however far-fetched it may seem? And if the creation becomes a bit unwieldy or contradictory, we can add to the rules over centuries in an attempt to smooth out the edges.
