In one situation, you had a government that employed a paramilitary force to exert their will on a people who they criminalized for being considered less than, ethnically, so they could summarily round them up and throw them in detention camps, all while also dismantling the tenets of the free society and democracy they had built over time. In doing so, they also created distrust in science and logic to create a populace that was easy to manipulate and convince what they were doing was in their best interests, but really it only served the interests of those in charge to maintain their power and continue to criminalize anyone who challenged their authority.



And the other happened in Germany.
