And we saw the same savings. Got accepted into both schools, ISU offered her a really nice financial assistance package due to proximity and grades-made it significantly cheaper than the beloved would have been.  Previous Message

Believe he's going to study biology (possibly genetics?) with a plan for vet school. ISU will be cheaper out of state with scholarships than Illinois in-state.
My daughter wanted to go her own direction-she had spent so much time in Champaign over the years that it felt like home, and she wanted to go someplace new and different.
It probably also helped ISU that 1) he visited on a great weather summer day and on the day they were playing in the Sweet 16 (visit was over by game time), 2) his Illinois visit was on the day of the snowstorm that shut down many schools across Central Illinois for a few days, and 3) he has a few buddies going to ISU.
