I also don’t really believe that other people increasing their spend on HS players is going to result in the portal market being affordable. The schools that matter are just going to drive up the prices in both places. You can either compete financially or you can’t. There isn’t going to be any bargain shopping strategy that you can rely on, unless you are just a better talent evaluator than everyone else. 2027 is supposed to be a smaller class for us but we're still way behind. Also, not really heavily involved with many high 3 star/borderline 4-star guys.
Sounds like we're going to lose out on one of our top OL targets (only rated in the ~800s) to Mizzou.
I'm still a 100% believer in Bert, and 2026 was a great class, but it's a bummer we couldn't keep the momentum going. Really need to avoid a down 2026 season. In-state class in 2028 is loaded.
