started in Ep. 4, which I felt was very formulaic, and continued into Ep. 5 for many of the reasons you mentioned.

-The team issues being resolved immediately after one night out doing something unrelated to the sport.
-Keeley telling Roy that he needs to go out and date others to make sure he really wants to be with her, only for him to meet someone he really likes (and then we get the classic "one person overhears part of a conversation that breaks their heart, but not the end that reveals the truth" trope in which Roy says he loves her).
-Alice being an asshole coach, in particular to Gemma, presumably because Alice thinks she's a great player and there's an element of "I want to push her to be the best she can be" along with "it's not fair that my career was cut short due to injury and hers wasn't because I would have worked harder, so I'm gonna make sure she works harder." But in this episode they seemed to have resolved things until right at the very end.
-The Rebecca & Matthjis breakup/get back together thing
-The Zelda storyline...I'm waiting for the reveal that she's the big bad of the season. When they introduced her they seemed to be showing her as a new role model for Keeley, which made Rebecca jealous and could start to drive a little wedge between them (especially with Rebecca repeatedly turning down her ideas for the team).
-As for Beard...IMO he didn't misread anything with the woman on the boat. she was sending him strong signals (noting that it's almost midnight, "can I tuck my cold feet under your legs?" while lying on the bed with him and after spending the whole night dancing/talking to him) that she was into him. And with how he was introduced to her (with Zelda saying she'd told her about him) it seemed like they were being set up. So I expect that to somehow come back (again, potentially with Zelda being the big bad).
