i don't know if Clayton will be THE GUY going forward
but I also don't think any QB in the room who didn't come along with a hefty NIL check would have been given a fair shake in competition without an injury. I think Clayton will come down to earth. a couple of his throws were very dangerous and a good D might have picked them off. but it would be great if he showed enough to have the staff comfortable riding with him moving forward, ala Kittner in 98. Previous Message is hoping for a John Paddock situation... Katin also made critical mistakes that cost us games (such as the interception that he deleted himself from the roster on)... It's an extremely small sample size from a freshman, but I've seen Michael Clayton go in and win a game for us. I realize this is likely very divorced from reality. Previous Message No shot with a true freshmen QB Previous Message I got illini +9.5 last night. Dante Moore ready? Bye week refreshed boogie? Heard rumor it opened at 12.5 for sharps. Great weather, are we BTN tailgate broadcast?
