You have some great suggestions here already but I think the most important thing is to keep the lines of communication open and talk to her about it.
Obviously there is a plethora of both individual and team sports as well as music (band/orchestra/choir), theater/drama on and behind the stage, but there are also things like student council, ASB (activities), etc.
Both my kids were actively involved in sports and music (band). I will say that the auxiliary groups of a marching band (like percussion and color guard) can be great. To me, the greatest thing about marching band in high school was band camp as a freshman...100+ instant friends before the first day of class...made things so much easier.
Good luck...sounds like a great young lady and she's lucky to have you as parents to help her along the journey.
