Sounds like a good kid, but at 11 I don’t think they have autonomy to their decisions

At 18, 100%. But for the time being, you get to choose the yes/no answer to doing something vs. nothing.
If we didn’t force our son into activities, he’d watch YouTube all day. That is not a choice he gets to make at his age (8)..
Good luck, keep trying/suggesting options. She needs to pick one…eventually she’ll find one that she likes.
And here in N.C. I think our law is 8 years old at home, not 14. That seems extreme.
