Lots of ways to go about it but ultimately I would not be out of pocket when all was said and done.Archived Message

No reason I would be the one who took a financial hit.
That being said, I have had a few rentals and there have been times when my tenant was suffering from either financial or personal hardship and I was very lenient and generous.
This does not sound like one of those times.

We have a renter in my wife’s old house. 12 month lease, ends May 31st. Tenant is a recently graduated dr. They are moving back to Durham to work at the main hospital rather than the Raleigh branch.
Last week they asked out of their lease for the whole month of May with a full release of the rent that they would owe that month.
Her and I differed on our response, curious how you would react.
