Because it’s a dumb lazy suspicion on par with Skip Bayless level analysis Archived Message

To be honest I think I follow this stuff pretty closely and I have heard no one mention anything to do with PEDs and Helton for years and certainly not during this period of him being elected to the HOF. There is nothing remotely suspicious about his career performance. In fact his career performance follows a normal aging pattern. He didn’t come out of nowhere as a HR hitter. He was a well regarded prospect who was regarded for his power potential. He hit 25 HRs in his first MLB full season. His career peak came at his age 27 season which is as normal as the sun rising from the east. The year after his career peak the Rockies installed a humidor in Coors Field to store baseballs. That substantially impacted offense at Coors Field. If we’ve learned anything from revelations of the steroid era you can’t “scout the statline” to make any sort of relevant accusation. Players of all types with all types of performances have been busted for roids or admitted to taking roids. We’ve also learned there were a variety of reasons why offensive performance explode in the late 90s. So yeah I think if you’re going to say something you should have more backed up than lazy suspicion because you might have heard something once and his career according to you somehow suggests PED performance. I don’t have anything invested either. I just think it’s super lame.
