Newsom way too easily will get painted as a California ultra liberal who is out of touch with the common man. He definitely carries himself like a movie star. Full of himself even for a politician. My wife met him at the National Governor's conference last year and didn't come out with a very positive view of him.
And I can't imagine there won't be some dirt coming from his prior relationship with Guilfoyle.
JBs not a great national candidate either. I think he's better than Newsome though.
Whitmer, Beshear, Wes Moore, Roy Cooper all better candidates, IMO.
Then again, it's not like the Democratic Party is great at picking candidates.

Giving up the benefits of incumbency with no obvious choice that had previously been tested on the national stage is lunacy.
Joe's not a great candidate solely because of his age, but he's still better than anything else we've got.

as a viable national candidate. Then again, I'm sure many would say the same about Newsome.
