and then they hit us three times in the same day on Wednesday, which was put us over the edge to call the cops. Specifically, they went to the window on the side of our house and banged on that (thus avoiding the doorbell camera). This happened at 7 pm and was the third hit of the day, which felt more targeted and invasive.

We finally had enough and called the cops. A police officer came to our house last night and basically told us that there's nothing we can do. Their activity doesn't rise to the level of being either trespassing our harassment. He also cautioned that retaliation against them of any kind would be extremely risky because they are minors. He said our best bet is to go to the school and to see if there's anything they can do to help. We've been trying to contact the school through various means for the past weeks and they have been very unhelpful.

I have complied a folder of photos of all of the kids who have been to the door. We are going to go to the school in person (I've already tried to do this once), but unfortunately his advice was to ignore them and hope they get bored of it. The whole thing has been incredibly frustrating.

at a schoool that is a few blocks from my house. They've been periodically ding dong ditching us for a few years now. At first it was entertaining, but it's escalated significantly in the past month. One kid in particular is rather aggressive, kicking the door so hard that it scared the crap out of me a few weeks ago. The situation has escalated to the point that the kids are basically terrorizing the neighborhood. Yesterday I sat on my porch when they got out of school so that they wouldn't do anything. I tried to speak with the principal at the school, but he/she didn't call me back. My wife sent an email to the school yesterday filing a complaint. I legit don't want them to get in trouble, I just want it to stop. I feel like a total Karen, but it's been very annoying. We have two cameras on our front door, so I literally have a video of them every time they do something. If I ever actually get my hands on one of them, I can't guarantee I won't do something stupid. We've clearly given them what they want and escalated the situation, which isn't helping, but I don't know what else to do. Of course the ringleader is a black kid with corn rows, straight from hood rat central casting.
