The name had been used as a title for militant left bulletins before then. I'm sure I remember seeing one copy of a publication called 'Straight Left' from the 1920s in the old CPGB archive back in the day. There are footnote references to such a title from 1928 in academic articles by Matthew Worley and Karen Hunt, and by Lawrence Parker.
