How interesting, thank you for posting. It would certainly explain why Lady Curzon didn’t mention a sapphire necklace when she wrote her last will on her way to India in 1898, as quoted by Anne de Courcy in »The Viceroy’s Daughters«: I wonder if it is the necklace which she wore for the Delhi Durbar in 1903 and was later worn by Lord Curzon’s second wife Grace.
