Good point. I have to amend my comment above to include that, yes, in any type of abusive situation, one has responsibility to speak up.

Case in point, my daughter was looking at a program and allegations of abuse came out. I actually reached out to the student and parent after explaining our situation. They were very open and honest and we ultimately changed direction. That specific coach quit the following year. I was very appreciative of the young lady speaking out. She stated she did not want any kid out of high school to endure what she had been through.
