The young theta had wandered out of Sabertooth. She wasn’t sure where she was going, but she knew she had to escape the shroud of death. She felt endangered ever since Lazarus’ death. She felt hemmed in. As if she was going to die too. She laid in the Ashen Woodlands, trembling. She barely heard the meteor hit.
When she realized the air was different. Alectrona dragged herself up. Timidly, she lurked among the trees; she didn’t want to lose her life if this was something malicious. She looked up at the star-bright, glittering sky. A sky that felt no grief. What must it be like, not to be sentient? To feel no anger, no happiness, no pain, no grief? She wondered. It tore at her, ate at her. That was when she noticed the meteor. Cautiously, Alectrona crept up to it. It was orange. Meteors weren’t like that!
“Ain’t it funny how you managed to just wash away?”
