Misty was hearing things, strange things that did her no good in the way of easing any fear or misgiving. She saw Iris, the new delta, slip out of the packlands, and she followed. What was Iris doing?
She soon got her answer when she realized that Iris was following Alectrona, the princess who was the new theta. She saw Alectrona far up ahead. The winged princesses seemed to be making their way to the Ashen Woodlands-a fact that spooked Misty. She took her role as kappa seriously, and wanted to make sure her alphas’ daughters weren’t getting themselves into trouble; after all it was a dangerous world.
Misty was so intent on following Alectrona and Iris that she barely noticed the comet until it was right about to hit. “Alectro-” came Iris’ cry, and then the princess fainted. Misty accelerated into a dead run. “Princess? Delta Iris?” But these words had barely left her mouth when she too faded.

“We are searchlights, we can see in the dark.”
