”Lucaya.” The blackened ess spoke, the name as cold as death on her lips. Lucaya’s mother, Kanaya, demanded a meeting with her daughter after she dropped that bombshell onto the pack meeting. The green-eyed grandmother, hell, great-grandmother even, was being put into this peace treaty marriage pact. ”Just what is the meaning of this?” She spoke again, not quite yelling but also not speaking at a normal volume either. Kanaya’s vision went red, both figurative and literally, her emerald eyes being overtaken by the red hue indicative of vampirism. ”I could be the grandmother of many, if not all of the wolves thrown into this peace treaty pact shit.” Kanaya scowled, looking away from her daughter and taking a sharp inhale. The auburn skirted lady did not want to yell at Lucaya. She couldn’t imagine what was going on in her head between the pack peace treaty and the fact that her mate and some of her children disappearing out of mid-air, including Styxx, one of Kanaya’s own. The theta let the air go in the form of a sigh before looking back to Lucaya, the red vampiric filter over her eyes diminishing. The next words came out as a whisper; ”…why?” The mother was hurt. She hadn’t been able to forget Damian, nor would she ever. They were soulmates, and they knew that from the start before the spirits even decided to give them that translucent soul-tie between them both. He was the only male she had ever loved. What was on Lucaya’s mind, to not only put her in the peace treaty as the oldest bachelorette, but also to pair her with a prince of Amaya, whom Kanaya had heard were sex-driven brutes. Great. If Lucaya was speaking at this point, Kanaya heard little due to her mind being all sorts of wound up with worries and would interrupt. ”Am I staying here, or am I expected to go there?” Although a question, the tone the crimson-skirted lady had made it sound like a statement. ”And when should I be expecting to be introduced to this, Chiodos fella?” Her cranium lowered and shook in disbelief, her next words, while voiced to the ground, were salty. ”Why pair me with someone from Amaya, out of all packs? I haven’t bothered with romance or mating since your father died, and now you go behind my back to promise my paw in marriage with a brute from a sex-driven pack.” Her cranium rose once again, attempting to meet Lucaya’s gaze. ”Just what is your reasoning for this?” Now that Kanaya got most of what she wanted to say out, she let her body relax and move into a sitting position, waiting for her daughter to explain her decisions. Actions and thoughts and "Words."
