The Khan had little to no clue of how to be a mate, but he knew he wanted to be the best for her. Whether it was from the string that connected them heart to heart or his own heart speaking for him. Something about the fire kissed Princess melted his heart, she was so different from him yet so kind. He had grown up in a world of non-stop battle, friends and family perishing. Though he supposed with her family recently being to war, she too knew that pain and anger. “Thank you, Kublai. Elden will be missed deeply.” He nodded at her words before carrying on to make their den. Where the stars could be seen, she'd asked for. So he did just that.
When he felt satisfied enough with it, he called over his soulmate Princess to check his work. A smile showed on his face as she came in and rubbed against his cheek, affection was something he was not shown often. “It’s wonderful, Kublai. You’ve done wonderful work.” He grinned as she praised him, watching as she laid down. "Thank you, Princess." Her look shifted, making his heart begin to speed up. “My dear, if you’d like to make this official - as well as help Tarben out in their numbers like my father so desperately wants..” His smile fell only a little, almost startled by her words. “I’d be ready to solidify this. I know that I want to be with you, that you can promise me safety and love. I can promise the same for you. I promise to love you, to protect you, to cherish our bond and tie for the rest of our lives, if you’ll have it.”
The Khan felt his cheeks begin to heat up at her words. The fears of fatherhood began to wash away from him, he would be the best father he could be. For her and their children should they have any. His smile presented itself once more. "Princess Lova, thank you. If that is what you wish and are okay with, I would love to." He said softly, extending himself to nuzzle into her cheek with his own. "I will always cherish you, the tie we share, and I promise to love you until my last breath and my soul leaves this land." He spoke softly before licking her cheek. His plume of feathers followed him as he came to her rear . . .
Fade in, fade out . . .
When he dismounted from the beautiful Princess, he felt the cold hit his sweat on his body. It was a nice feeling from all the warmth they had created, the den was well insulated. He laid down next to Lova, resting his head on her shoulder and wrapping his wing over her if she let him. "I have never been a father, nor have I had the greatest father. But for you, I would do anything. If we conceive children, I will do my best to be the greatest father to them." He said softly, a smile pulling at his lips. "I think I'm falling for you, Princess." He said with a soft chuckle.
