Artemis’ smile caught him off guard, he simply had to have more of it, her laugh too. He wanted to give her the world; she had had too much suffering. He listened to her as she expressed her want to have children. And Remus found himself agreeing with her wholly.
“Artemis, my love, I would like children,” he agreed, grinning at her. “I think you would be a wonderful parent, too. And even if I didn’t know the ropes, you do. There are also others to help us out, and I’m reassured by the fact that you are the gentlest, most perfect woman to be a mother I have ever known.” His own mother had been distant and uncertain. As for Nellie-she was smart, and strong. But she was getting to that mental state where emotionally, her history would not allow her to bear more children. Artemis, however, could handle anything. “I want to give you anything you need and want, and my sister could use some new joy in her life. I think children sounds like a wonderful idea.” A tiny chuckle escaped his mouth. “Imagine a pair of little Artemises running around, and a tiny me, and maybe a mini half-me half-you. We’re in for a ride if they’re anything like my sister and I were when we were young.” His heart was already swelling. Sons and daughters, to love and cherish.
