If they believe they can make money, and get ahead off lies, they tell them. The current leadership and his administration are classic, textbook examples. Bad, lie telling people project their demeanor onto good truth telling people with intent to convince those unfamiliar or inexperienced "alternative facts" are truths. Fake news does the same. Trump is a dilettante more focused on petty revenge for being caught in his many blunders into stupidity. He has a substantial following of equally and similarly unaccomplished dilettante miniatures known as MAGA.
