I got a BA from Ohio State (sorry, 'THE Ohio State University') in Anthropology in the '80s. I goofed around and took years to finish, but paid for it myself. My first quarter there cost $250 (I lived at home). Nobody could pay for college with a part-time job now,
of course.

A liberal-arts (not a political term!) degree was valuable then..it showed you had discipline, could learn, and had a wide
range of knowledge. Now? Is it worth the price of a huge, long-term loan? Not in my opinion. I'd go to school and
pick up a trade. And I hate to say that.
