I have numerous friends in both areas. I associate most regularly with the natural sciences types. Which, in this place, have some very progressive liberal-minded individuals. Those types mostly hail from the West Coast. A couple of them that I can think of are from the Washington State area.

I am friends with and have an excellent working relationship with all of them too. I tend to get along well with everyone. It makes life so much simpler.
