With only two main parties, that are diametrically opposed to one another on multiple issues, it makes zero sense to presume that human beings fit neatly or perfectly into one or the other based on only one aspect of themselves.
Example: I am a social liberal but a fiscal conservative.
I come from a family of politically leaning Republican folks originally from Massachusetts. Aren't we all supposed to be rabid Democrats?? Yet less than half of us are. In fact, MA isn't nearly as "blue" as outsiders believe.
Within my birth family, friends, and MA neighbors, very single one of us has a variety of viewpoints on every issue - some right, some left, with varying degrees of agreement of each.
That's why MA has had both R & D governors, mayors, senators, reps, etc. Voters aren't programmed droids. Nonpolitical, uninformed, and indoctrinated voters usually vote straight tickets based on stereotypical beliefs about political parties.
Ditto every state.
Our current countrywide assumptions about strangers based on "surface evidence" and their presumed motives is deeply flawed!
The endless assumptions and accusations that come from that flaw is downright DANGEROUS on top of being DOWNRIGHT STUPID!
