last year for medical reasons. Music is THE most important thing in his life aside of his family.

Leaving this church means escaping the nightmare situation, but it ALSO means leaving the music and performances and likely the group he plays with there. THAT is a "big leave".

All this on top of what Covid cost him, his mountain climbing. The lung damage from Covid means he can't go too high, can't climb the sheer cliffs up top anymore, and so he can only hike part way up his beloved mountains.

He reluctantly left public teaching and running the music department due to AHs in charge who didnt value the arts or seem to understand that they had a former prodigy who performed all over the world teaching their students and putting on professionally planned concerts for the community.

He'd left the relentless international concert grind to marry and have a family. That cost him plenty, but he was able to fill his musical inclinations and performance needs by teaching and performing in a professional orchestras in CO.

So, he's lost so much in the last few years and leaving this church, in spite of the hatefulness there, is still a big loss on top of a solid relief from the stress they cause him.

IOW, he may have to take it very slow so that he can find another outlet for performing and to replace his church, which IS very importantto him as well.

I hope he can just walk away and find something better, but it could also take time to get there.
