I truly believe it to be an investment for our 11 year old. She loves it and we've already seen personal growth in just a few months of being on the team. It also bakes into her week physical activity, people other than us highlighting importance of things like sleep, hydration, proper nutrition. She has always struggled with accepting and leaning from failure and continuing to work hard at things that don't come easy. These have also improved.
We aren't doing this believing there is a D1 scholarship on the other side. Kids are expensive and providing them access to something they love is important if you're able to do so. In this case we are and I feel lucky that we can.

Our volleyball club is fantastic. They have national, regional plus, regional teams at each level. Even up to 18 only practice twice a week. Major emphasis on injury prevention and building personal responsibility.
Of the 40 kids they have on teams at 18 y/o, 20+ are playing in college including 10 high major (2 to the beloved).

Apparently it's "stay to play", so the team has to have at least 8 rooms booked from the official tournament hotel block. There's more than 8 families and the tournament hotel is both not cheap AND far away from the tournament site.
RIP the team manager parent's text inbox, she's already hearing from people that dont want to use the official hotel. Also, only 3 kids from the B team were invited to attend, despite more than 3 occasionally subbing with A team.
