We’ve already overachieved relative to my personal preseason expectations. I thought the team was a top 20-25 caliber squad. I remember posting that this season would be a big challenge for Underwood, and that he would deserve a lot of credit if he could integrate so many new pieces and find ways to maximize the talent of so many guys who all had strengths but who, with the exception of TSJ, all have weaknesses as well.
And Brad and the team have absolutely delivered, and have performed at an extremely high level to earn the 3 seed and make the S16. Even resetting expectations to pre-tourney, we’ve played to our seed to get this far, and looked good doing it. And we are now facing a 2 seed that the metrics say is a better team, with a resume that could easily have justified a #1 seed.
Of course I will be upset in the moment if we lose to them, especially if we don’t play a good game. But taking the broader view, this season is definitely already a success.

It’s time y’all.
Today is the day Brad Underwood tells Hampton Ski and our other fake ass fans to kiss his ass.
