i do a lot of cable work for arm days. i get better form, less cheating, and a better resistance profile. but the one barbell torture i've kept for anterior delts is getting a lighter flat barbell (30 or 40), hold palms up, and with straight arms lift slowly all the way up thinking about pushing it with the pinky side of your hand, and control it slowly down. do that until failure. you'll go from "this is easy" to "fuuuuuuuuuuck this" around rep 15-20 or so. then give yourself a 2 min rest and do it all again. that's what i end arm day on.
