Firstly, I admit I have not read through all the above messages, but there is something I wanted to say/add. Maybe someone already did and if so, then I apologize.

In my experience, having an US phone number (AT&T), and my husband does too (AT&T), I can hardly ever reach him, using regular celular, when I am at the beach, along the whole bay, past the town. The call just doesn’t go through. The bars might be 1-3, depending on the day.

So I always use Whatsapp when calling or texting him from the beach. And it is rare that I can’t get through.

So I was wondering if the ambulance would be easier to reach using Whatsapp instead. I understand that on the beach, one still uses satélite/ceular since there is no WiFi zone, so I don’t know why it always works better.

Now, I know not everyone has the option to use Whatsapp beyond a WiFi zone, there might be an extra fee, but for those who can call on Whatsapp beyond a WiFi zone, it might be helpful for them.

For that to work, then the person who answers at the ambulance would have to have a Whatsapp plan that allows using satellite/celular, if not present in a WiFi zone.

Well, just a thought I had, reading most of the messages above.
