There is a local organization whose coaches earn $ giving lessons. Often times the lessons do not result in improved performance. Year-after-year the parents pay for lessons, hundreds per month with improvement. This organization kept these girls around (the team never improved) cuz they bought lessons. It was a scam. The few real good players eventually left as they grew tired of driving home after one game on Sunday.
