The bouncing bumble of fur known as Joy was excited to be in these new lands, meeting all sorts of new people that she’d come to learn were her family. Lucaya was the first, having bounded up to her father as soon as she recognized him. Thyrius had nudged little Joy to say hello, and she eventually introduced herself. Her aunt was very receptive to her introduction and seemed to be very happy for her existence! ”Well Joy, I’m happy to tell you you are of royal descent! I’m your aunt Lucaya, and I’m Queen of these lands.” Joy smiled, her eyes wide with amazement as her tail wagged excitedly. ”Woooow! You’re a queen?! Can I be a queen some day aunt Lucaya?!” She said, turning her head then to her father to look at him with her light teal eyes. ”Dad! You never told me we were royalty!” The smile still remained on her face until her attention was brought to another figure – this time a female with green eyes and red hips…who was this? Her head cocked once the woman began to sob. Joy did not like to see others upset. They could not be, at least, not in her presence! She looked up to her father, whom said ”Go ahead. She’s your grandma.” Her grandma?! Woah! Without hesitation her brown and black mottled body with rabbit ears bounded over to Kanaya, losing balance within some steps. ”Hi grandma-ma! Hi! I’m Joy!”. Kanaya’s teary green eyes flickered up to meet the small body, and she took a minute to process the words. Grand…ma? Kanaya looked between Thyrius and little Joy – there were definitely some features that matched, mostly her eyes. The little one had much lighter teal eyes than her father. A small smile made it’s way onto her face as she spoke softly to the little girl. ”Hi miss Joy. I am your grandmother Kanaya.” The little lass quickly interrupted, stating the obvious, as children do. ”Your name is so similar to aunt Lucaya’s!” This caused a small laugh out of the crimson-skirted woman. ”How very observant little miss Joy! Yes, our names are similar! That is because I named Lucaya. She’s my precious daughter.” Then the little bundle of energy pointed out another trait of Kanaya’s, once again becoming distracted. ”Woah! Look at all your scales grandma-ma! They’re so pretty!” Kanaya’s smile grew wider on her face. ”Thank you baby. I like your ears! They’re even tipped with your father’s black color!” Joy nodded, smiling brightly and then began to show off her rabbit ears. Their conversations continued as Thyrius and Lucaya caught up, neither the little pup or the aging female’s attention being dragged away by the words spoken between brother and sister. If they had, Kanaya likely would have become upset, being reminded of the tendencies she had been trying to push back. The vampirism made it even more difficult, but it was little beings like little Joy here that reminded Kanaya that life needed to be cherished. Kanaya would do all in her power to prevent the little lass to learn of the darkness in the world at such a young, innocent age. Even if that took playing with her constantly. Her mind flicked to Kelsea – she was a new Zeta alongside Fara. The two of them would be sure to keep little Joy safe while the mother to the queen kept to her duties as theta. Actions & Words.
