As far as Youtube and access without tailoring, I'm not even sure I have that option on this side of the Puddle. For me the home page for Youtube shows an array of things to choose, scroll down for more, just like any other streaming service here.

While I get no adverts such as pop-ups and the like because of the advert-killer download, Youtube nests commercials here as a condition of use unless you subscribe at a nominal fee.

Bear in mind I'm using a tablet, and these are all geared to serving the great Google monopoly here, something that was going to be addressed but now looks to be the way forward for the next four years at least.

So, I have to wonder how much differs between either side of the pond or how much effort and know-how I'd need to invest to get the same sort of thing you have.
