Some may know about the Dutch based Mighty KBC who hired airtime on shortwave for many years, their programming particularly aimed at truckers. They also have a business, K-PO, supplying a wide range of radio equipment including some years ago the Bosch Calais USB 40 which is still being manufactured and available in the UK:

Many German made radios from manufacturers such as Grundig covered the 49 and 41 metre shortwave bands as most of the state broadcasters operated 24/7 there. I don't know whether this included car radios.

KBC is now on DAB+ in the Netherlands and the internet 24/7 including Bob Van Beetens Transport Radio programme. They are hiring shortwave airtime, currently from WRMI in Florida, for a few hours a week. They stopped their 6095 programming at the end of last year which included Rosko, Ron O'Quinn and Wolfman Jack.
