Ken, most pharmacies, Boots included, offer a repeat prescription service, I am no5 sure about delivery, if your friend lives in Pelaw when my late mum was alive the pharmacy there offered a repeat prescription service, they also delivered mum’s repeat prescription on the same day each month or whatever arrangement has been made, it was a free service.

I use the NHS App, which is quite easy but you have to remember to order the prescription well in advance as it can take 3 or 4 days before the prescription is ready, why I don’t know.
