Re: Technology changes causing havoc with us old folk
Quick update on my neighbour's NHS problems: he came back with a new Tesco smartphone and then asked me for more help installing the NHS app. The journey began, and wait for this tale of mystery. All went well with inserting the name and date of birth, but the phone number was a bit tricky; it was managed. I then had to set up an email address, but then the BIG problem was ID PROOF ??, no driving license, no passport, nothing to prove his ID, nothing to prove his ID, thinking I then asked him if he had a bus pass, the answer was YES, OK, let's try that, taking a photo of this BOTH sides as instructed the n inserting into thier website, watching the little circle going round and round OK DONE! Well NO!, NOW I have to video him speaking 4 provided number (what they send) OK I then video him saying these 4 numbers and once again those little wheels start going again, this is not interrupted with providing thses activation number we will send you in an email, back to the email waiting of more mumbers to insert in activation area, al works more circles going around, then finally I THINK ALL IS DONE, NO mesaage saying in a few day s we wil send you a message if you have been activated, OR you can call youer doctor group and ask them to activate your app, this to 2 hours, and stil no NHS APP WORKING, he is waiting for email that this is activated! CRAZY, how many people would be able to do what I HAVE just assisted this person with, how many have a valid passport (must be valid), how many have a driving license, but most of ALL how many can DO what it has taken me 2 hours to do, hope thise informs you what the NHS ADMIN (not the real NHS PEOPLE)IS DOING FOR YOU?
