I think...
for something that effects so few people, that this is being blown way out of proportion. One bill in Utah IIRC sought to ban a grand total of four trans athletes from playing, which is stupid. There have also been other cases, like trying to ban transwomen from women's chess competitions because of "unfairness". Are biological women less intelligent than men? The literature does not support that conclusion. I will grant that there are differences, but so few people play elite sports to begin with that the data is gonna be biased by a variety of factors. A lot of the records claimed to have been beat by tranwomen are also oddly specific, and often if you dig a little further county-level only, or even more ludicrously school-district level only. "Specific record beaten by a few minutes in one specific school district" is a lot less sensational than "transwomen breaks record" without specifying the actual details. There is also variation here that shouldn't be discounted. In some areas biological women outperform biological men. I think I've seen transmen beat cismen in a few areas too, but don't quote me on that. This is a complicated issue prone to sensationalism, but I am willing to concede that you have a legitimate worry.
