for us yes. Beyond these rare situations it makes it way more convenient
For my HS kid and us to get things done in an incredibly (to us anyway) hectic schedule. I will tell you this... Becoming a parent has absolutely humbled me. Pre-kids I had big opinions and lots of bright lines around various matters like this. What I've found is that those lines are usually quite blurry. We agonize over decisions we make as parents all the time. Weighing positives/negatives constantly.  Previous Message and is giving up the obvious communication advantage worth it to get kids from being so phone dependent. As noted, this also certainly applies to adults.
