Finally saw Oppenheimer and Poor Things -- neither is that great. Wonka was a better filmArchived Message

Oppenheimer is 3 hours and was about as deep as a 2nd grade book on the man. It kind of seemed more like a movie of him vs Strauss, but didn't really get deep enough on that either. And being nominated for score, let alone winning it -- is insane.
Poor Things looks absolutely fabulous and is definitely a very different type of movie. Any awards/nominations for costume, design, cinematography, adaptation, best actress would have been fine by me and even a nomination for best picture, but the story while interesting and unusual is mostly filled with characters that are kind of meh, imo. I'm not sure there are any real takeaways from this movie at the end of the day.
Wonka looked fabulous too, but had much better characters and story. The fact it had no nominations, when these other 2 were the 2 biggest movies of the year, based on the Oscars, kind of amazes me.
