At Beartooth’s words, Larentia felt her heart swell. It was something she hadn’t experienced in a long time. Remus. The thought of seeing him was a shrill whine in her head. She marched out of Tarben, head held high.
But the second they were out of Tarben lands, Raven whirled to her. “I hate you,” the lass spat, anger transforming her face. “I hate you. If not for you, I would still be where I belong: in Tarben lands! I would still be a Dane! You and your stupid cowardice and desertion and boringness!” Her daughter ran, fleeing off to h e l l knew where. Nadia opened her mouth, but then closed it.
“Mother,” she said softly. “I’m going to go. I’m going to go to Amberbjorne or Dawnshire, maybe Sabertooth. Make a good future for myself and my children. Yes. Mother, I’m pregnant. Wendigo was ordered by the king to pup me. No matter what, I don’t feel like Raven. But it’s your choice to come with me or not.”
Larentia stared at her daughter with hard eyes. Eyes that had already given up. “I’m going to go find Remus in Sabertooth. But chances are he’s got a new girl. So if he does, I’m disappearing. Don’t come calling, Nadia. It’ll only bring you pain.” She turned off, in the direction of Sabertooth.
Her only daughter left to the woman stood, long after her mother was gone, sifting through in her mind the remains of a shattered life.
"I guess I kinda liked the way you numbed all the pain."Skadi, Boiko, Nadia, Muninn, Raven, & Huginn | Witch of the Wood | No Pack | Nadia
