The Delta stood, looking to the other side. Hecate stood near, as well as her possible lover Kalon. He didn't know what was going on with those two, but he had a loyalty to Athena and their pack. He waited for the Alphess's words, before he charged forward with the rest. He managed to land a few blows upon some passing wolves, but nothing serious as he charged through. Then, a familiar scent hit his nares, the motherly scent of Onai, and Jack nearby. Were they allied with them? Surely, he would have known. His heart then sank at the thought of going up against them. They were innocent in this war, they had caused nothing. Yet were they caught in the cross-fire? Just as his mind began to race, Hecate's voice screamed out from across the battlefield. "CATO!!!" He whipped his head around to the sight of Irina, the Nightingale Alphess, with Onai hanging limply from her jaws. Jack laid upon the ground, his broken body gushing with blood from the wound, his organs on display. He froze, but as Hecate began to scream at the Alphess, he bolted over and snarled, hovering over his parents bodies, as well.. as he assumed, his little brothers. "You monster!" He snarled, fur standing on end as his ears pinned back. Hecated continued to scream at the monstress, before stalking off. While Irnia stared after her, before running into the crowd, Cato felt tears brimming in his eyes, angry tears. He stared down at the lifeless corpses of his parents, and a little brother.. his heart wept for them. "Mother.. Father.. I'm so sorry.. we should have protected you.." He murmured, gently nudging them, hoping they'd wake up. "Please don't leave us.. we can give you a good life.. we'll protect you.." His whimpers went unanswered by them, and Cato felt a sob building in this throat. He looked up at the bloody battlefield around him, shaking his head, before racing off after Hecate. He was done, absolutely done. F*ck Sindri. F*ck Nightingale. F*ck Tarben. Their parents were innocent. They didn't deserve this life. He was done. They would go somewhere where they could be safe. "Hecate!" He called out, his voice cracking, as he ran after his sister. Kalon; As the war began, Kalon ran forward. As soon as he did, a female from the other side rammed him in the face with her horns, and he could feel blood gushing from his eye. He reeled back, taking a look around with his good eye, his other closed from the pain. F*ck. He wouldn't get that back. But as he looked, he saw Hecate and Kalon leaving the battlefield. His loyalty didn't lie with any pack. It lied with Hecate, and her alone. He ran towards her, leaving the battle mid progress. He didn't care. If she was leaving, so was he.
