Tybalt (Dawnshire): Ayara (Amberjorne): Aya (Hawthorne): Kodlak (Hawthorne): Kelsea and Oracle (Hawthorne): Lahmer (Hawthorne): Kanaya (Hawthorne): After such hits, Kanaya’s ears flicked back at the sound of Kodlak yowling in immense pain. She backed up enough to get just out of range for an attack of opportunity against her from Wendigo before she fleed towards her nephew and her mate, who lie next to Kodlak, with one less leg. Kanaya’s eyes locked onto the female who had held Kodlak’s leg in her maw, then back to Damian. Her body immediately ran to the latter, tears forming in her eyes. ”Damian…” she whispered in her sobs. ”I’ll see you again, my love.” Kanaya had only hoped he was still able to hear those words as she watched the life fade from his crimson eyes. Once they had, she looked at the battlefield, now set partially ablaze by a dragon boy in the sky. Her emerald eyes caught onto Aya’s lifeless body being engulfed by the flames, a sob exiting her maw. Tears blurred her vision as she looked to also see Helheim, also long gone, being protected by Lahmer. Her eyes locked onto Maverick, who was now against the male she had just fought. Everything was falling apart, including Kanaya herself. Her limbs gave out as she sobbed, moving her body close to Damian’s. She did not care about the blood and gore. All she wanted was to feel his warmth one last time…just once more…before warmth became a rare thing for her to receive, but also to give. Actions & Words.
The warrior was not surprised by the sudden call to war – albeit not being the most active in the pack, Tybalt was quick to find information out, often through passive observing. But he was not the quickest this time, as everyone in the pack heard the call at the same time. Tybalt crept out of his den and followed suit to the Proving Grounds behind his leaders. Upon being called to the front lines and the start of battle, Tybalt ran to the field. He had longed for battle, he had always been a warrior at heart. Part of him had also been yearning for the day he would come across Romeo, whom had courted Juliet, his cousin. But, that day never came, it was as if they had vanished just out of thin air. His baby blue eyes caught onto a wolf running straight at him just a moment too late as he was pummeled to the ground. He probably could have stood a better chance if his luck allowed him to inherit a bloodline like many of the wolves here. He felt blood start to fill his lungs – a rib had cracked and punctured his lung. He tried gasping for air, but gurgles were the main sounds as the taste of iron seeped into his maw. His baby blue eyes soon became dull as the life was drained out of him [Death of Tybalt by Raven]
Upon hearing the call, Ayara followed the pack of Amberjorne to the Proving Grounds. Ayara was not one for fighting, making her Theta role even more fitting to the occasion. Upon the first charges of battle, Ayara stayed back. She would wait for the injuries to occur and do her best to keep track of who got what, furthermore, who would be making it back from battle. As she observed, she kept herself aware of her surroundings and alert to any wolves that may try to approach her. As much as she was not one for fighting, she would stand her ground if necessary. A pang of guilt rang through her heart as she saw her sister Valkyrie become slightly injured and other Amberjorne wolves fall to their deaths, but the gray, black, and white wolf still did her best to attend to those who had fallen, while watching her own back. Surely Amberjorne’s Theta did not need to go down too.
The wolves of Hawthorne had rushed towards the Proving Grounds once everyone who had wanted to be turned had been bitten by her sister, Lucaya. Aya herself did not want to succumb to such vampiric tendencies, she held herself to a higher standard than that. In fact, Aya had considered leaving Hawthorne, as it had seemed she had no potential to take over for Lucaya. But this war gave a potential opportunity to show what she could do. She took to the sky upon first combat and immediately went after a female who was coming straight at her too. Aya tried to veer suddenly and ram into the girl’s side to get her off balance, however, Aya was the one knocked off balance by a male with draconic features, like those her brother had obtained. This gave the girl the opportunity to make a move, which understandably, she did. The male however, upon running into Aya, had found a way for his maw to grasp around her wing. Within milliseconds, and with millions of tiny snap sounds, Aya’s left wing was immobilized. Fear began to rang through her, but it was only amplified when the female did the same to her other wing. Both opponents had let go of her wings at the same time, and Aya plummeted to the ground, her neck snapping instantly as she fell head first due to her inability to control either of her wings. Kodlak felt the vampirism course through his veins, and the bloodthirstiness was bubbling inside, soon about to boil over. Upon the first rallies of wolves to charge, Kodlak found his way by ramming his full body weight into many sides of Tarben allied wolves to slow down combat and potentially get an advantage for the packs sided with Hawthorne. At the time they were unbalanced, Kodlak would bite into their side to get just a bit of that sweet, sweet, crimson liquid. It was somewhat effective, but his eyes caught onto his grandfather, Damian, who was frozen by fear, and a wolf encroaching upon him. Did Damian really not notice? Kodlak ran as fast as he could to hope to save him on time, but quickly enough, the femme had ripped into Damian. Kodlak jumped from where he was, hoping to get a bite into this female’s shoulder and some deep claw marks in her back. Just enough to deter her away from Damian. When she skirted away, Kodlak turned to his pitch black grandfather, about to attempt to comfort Damian’s last minutes until a wolf had snatched onto his back leg, causing Kodlak to howl out in pain. If Kanaya hadn’t heard her lover’s muffled by blood calls, she surely would have heard Kodlak. He tried desperately to kick the wolf holding onto his back leg, and he swore he was able to get some scratches, but the tearing of muscle caused Kodlak to collapse. His amber eyes and his head turned back to look – his leg was off of his body, and in this giant icy woman’s maw. Kodlak fainted at the gory sight of his leg gone, his cranium almost moving like seen in cartoons before it thudded to the battlefield. [Kodlak’s back leg ripped off by Skadi]
Naturally, these two stuck next to each other as they approached the battlegrounds with all of Hawthorne, Kelsea naturally scared out of her mind. She had not even noticed the battles had begun – she was keeping an eye on Oracle, her protector. In almost an instant, Oracle, who had been standing in front of her, was chomped down on upon by Beartooth himself, and Kelsea watched as the giant brute almost ripped Oracle’s head off. The death was instant upon that move. She gasped in fear as he did. Oracle was certainly gone. It was then that the dire wolf had turned to Kelsea. She felt her knees buckle in fear, her body shaking wildly as he smirked. But her eyes watched Beartooth somehow get whisked away in the sky…by…Maverick, was it? One of the royalty, brother to Lucaya. He had a pink line coming from his chest, which upon following its path, Kelsea noticed it was linked to her own body. However, her attention was quickly then drawn to the blood from Oracle’s body slowly encroaching towards her paws. She laid by Oracle’s once living body, not caring about the blood that would seep into her fur, and she wept loudly, assorted cries of “please be okay” and “please wake up” even though deep in her heart knew well and sure that her safe zone was now gone. [Death of Oracle by Beartooth]
The battlefield was a gruesome one, that was for sure. Lahmer’s crimson eyes watched Aya as she attempted to fight in the sky, but it was only shortly after her death soon came. Lahmer ran towards Aya as her body fell, however, the starry clad girl knew there was no saving Aya at that speed as she got closer. Lahmer skid to a stop, wincing as she witnessed Aya’s neck crack instantaneously. As much as she wanted to mourn her friend, her aunt, Lahmer’s attention was brought to her various siblings in pain. Kodlak had his leg ripped off, and appeared to faint. Probably due to blood loss. Helhiem…however, had passed. Lahmer approached her brother’s body as other members of their family had already, including her father, Nibris. Rather than getting into the midst of the war, Lahmer nodded to her father, as a silent way to communicate “I’ll watch him” as she rounded to his side and stood her ground. However, there was a blind spot behind her, as she whipped her head towards her mother’s voice saying that a princess of Tarben was captured. Beartooth could easily do the same to her.
The news about Drevis had enraged the crimson skirted lass. Without words, she took up Lucaya’s offer for turning and she felt the vampirism swim its way through her veins. It felt…right. It was an unexplainable feeling, but the pure ecstasy? It thrilled her, she had not felt this in so long. Kanaya could not hold the anger in, especially when Beartooth had arrived and taunted about Drevis. She snarled, her eyes immediately making eye contact to the wolf Beartooth must have been referencing. Kanaya waited for the right moment, watching as this wolf had talked with another female before approaching the battle scene. What had he done to her daughter, furthermore, why was he talking to another female too? The bastard. Kanaya without further hesitation, sprinted and lunged at Wendigo. Words weren’t necessary. Wendigo would see the similarity…after all, Drevis was essentially a clone of Kanaya, she just had dragonfly wings while the crimson skirted lass had a reptilia bloodline. Her claws would first hit his eye and maw, leaving scars to remain for the rest of his life. She took advantage of the temporary blindness to bite into his lower neck and dig her claws deep into his side. She felt his blood seep into her mouth, but there was something…off about it that she recoiled shortly after. He was a vampire too. How did Tarben get vampires? Surely…Drevis had no interest in becoming one herself – how did she end up with him? While her mind was distracted by said thoughts, surely Wendigo would get his own hits in.
