I go to bed with some song stuck in my head, wake up in the middle of the night

to make a bathroom trip, and it's still there, then wake up in the morning with it still playing. It can often hang with me until the next afternoon. One way I get rid of it is to play some other song and hope it doesn't do the same thing. If I have other things going on, it almost becomes like background music. As soon as my mind is free from other thoughts, it pops right back up. Displacing it with other music seems to work pretty well, and most of the time I won't get hit with another stuck in continuous play. Why some songs get stuck in "continuous play" mode is a mystery to me.
