The 1 thyroid gland has a different job than the 4 parathyroid glands

ADMIN
If your thyroid gland has gone hypo that doesn't cause the issues that rogue parathyroid glands do. When one of the pt glands goes haywire it floods the body with excess calcium stolen from your bones that typically results in kidney stones or worse. Low vitamin D is just one cause of the p-t glands going rogue. Occasionally one or more just fail, grow excessively large and overtake the other 3 so they don't work properly. Removing the rogue fixes the problem. That happened to my husband. He was full of kidney stones, developed Gerd, and started breaking bones from minor falls. Sorta like humpty dumpy. LOL Removing it put himm all back together again. Vitamin D is supposed to regulate the calcium in your blood, which is essential to life. Lack of enough will trigger temporary failure of pt glands so increasing it with 50,000 units for 8 weeks will correct the situation. Anyway, now I'm all over the place so I'll stop now. :-)
