Just to be clear, I do think there are some advantages to being in person Archived Message

Both in terms of relationships and team building and in terms of hallway and pre-meeting conversations. However, I think you get 90+% of those benefits with 1 or 2 coordinated in-person days. For most office jobs, more than that is into diminishing returns, with a large burden on employees for minimal benefits to the employer. And any in person day that isn’t a required core day is a waste of time. Previous Message made 80% of the company move, and they’re not nearly big enough to demand and/or pay for that yet. I think full time in-office will stay dead, but full time remote will eventually die for most as well, outside of smaller companies and certain roles. I’m mixed on it as I don’t really think it helps productivity, especially if everyone is not in the office on the same days, but I do think it’s important for city cores. Having tons of buildings just sit totally empty is not healthy, and after doing more research on it, only like 10% of these will be able to be converted, and even those will take another 10 years. Previous Message Just had an announcement that we are going from full time telework for all non-supervisors to 3 days/week in office starting in a couple on months. I bet we lose 10-20% of the workforce in the next 6 months. Certainly tips the balance for me way towards leaving, if I can find a gig. But at least we can all improve collaboration by calling into meetings from our desks in the office instead of from our desks at home.
