However, we know that he's not smart enough, or at least too petty/vindictive enough to take that tact.
I'm curious to see how the swing voters react when prices don't change. Because he ain't fixing that. No president is. Will his media megaphones be able to spin the narrative and tell them it's great and they buy it? Most of them are easily duped.

But Trump also is likely to turn much of the more senior career civil service posts into political appointees as well, to maximize patronage and intimidate existing officials with the threat of sacking if they try to follow the law or do their jobs rather than following his whims.
So we are going to maximize corruption and authoritarianism while minimizing competence and performance. Which is a pretty good encapsulation of Trump and Trumpism.
